Bacon jelly

Ingredients:

Agar Agar

4-5 slices of smoked bacon

one table spoon of sunflower oil

Half of an onion

salt

 

Process:

Heat saucepan over medium-high heat. Add the oil and later on minced onion. Keep it sizzling until the onion becomes translucent, you might lower down the heat if necessary.

Later, add the bacon, add some color to it, the bacon should look brown and delicious. Once this is done,add water in order to cover the bacon and onion, should be around 3 cm above.

Now, the liquid should be reduced to your desired flavor. I reduced the liquid a lot, in order to extract as much flavor as possible.

Once this is done, the liquid should be blended very well with a blender, I used a handheld blender for this.

The blended liquid should be drained through a coffee filter sieve in order to make sure the liquid is free from impurities.

The filtered liquid can now be poured into a saucepan with the agar agar. The amount of Agar depends on the amount of liquid that you have made, for this you need to follow the guidance on the Agar of your choice.

Once boiled and stirred with the agar, the liquid can be poured into molds of your choice!
